State-of-the-art Dental Technology
At Park Place Dental, we are committed to using the most
up-to-date technological tools available to help you achieve a
healthy and beautiful smile. Below are just a few of the ways
we use technology to deliver top-notch dental care.
CEREC is a state-of-the-art system for the
fabrication of all ceramic dental restorations in one
office visit. With CEREC, you can be in and out in a
single visit with a permanent, all-ceramic crown, onlay or
veneer. For you, this means fewer injections, less drilling,
and less time out of your hectic schedule for dental care!
ORAL CAMERAS: Have you ever wondered
what we see when we look inside your mouth? With our oral
cameras, you can see exactly what we see! We use a very small
camera mounted onto a dental instrument to take a "video tour" of
your mouth, teeth, and gums, and we can show you those images on TV
screens located right in our operatories. We know that an
educated patient makes better, more educated choices about his or
her dental treatment, and we want to make sure you have all of the
information you need to make those choices.
DIGITAL X-RAYS: With digital x-rays, we
can get accurate and detailed images of your mouth and tooth
structure with less radiation exposure for you and much quicker
turnaround time for us. Plus, digital x-rays, just like
digital pictures, can be easily stored in our computer system,
retrieved on any operatory computer, and easily e-mailed or
attached to insurance claims.
OFFICE COMPUTER NETWORK: We know
that your time is precious, and we respect that, so we do all we
can to make sure it's used efficiently. With that in mind, we
have computer monitors in each operatory so that we can easily
share information with you about your current oral health,
treatment options, treatment planning, and scheduling, all in one
place.
COMPUTERIZED SMILE DESIGN: With Smile
Design computer technology, our patients arre able to visualize the
end result of any procedure prior to even deciding on their exact
course of treatment. Digital photographs are taken of the
patient's existing smile a computerized picture of the desired
result will be generated. The patient is able to discuss with
the dentist how he or she feels about the results and we are able
to make the appropriate changes prior to beginning
treatment!
IN OFFICE WHITENING:
The process of in office whitening is simple. We carefully apply
a whitening gel to the patient's teeth. To maximize the whitening
gel's effectiveness, a special blue light is shined on the teeth
for 20 minutes while the patient relaxes in the dentist's chair.
The light does not get hot and is completely safe and
effective. The process is repeated two, three, or sometimes
four times during the office visit and the patient has a dazzling,
brighter, whiter smile.
THE WAND:
The Wand is essentially a
computer-controlled means of delivering local anesthetic.
The flow rate of the local anaesthetic is controlled by a
computer. This means that the injection is guaranteed to be slow
and steady and therefore comfortable.
Most people who have had a bad experience with injections think
that needles sting because the skin is pierced, but this is usually
not so! Most often, the sting was caused because the anesthetic was
fired in too quickly. Obviously, it is possible for the dentist to
control the speed with a standard syringe, but the idea of the Wand
is to take out the "human error". This can be very reassuring for
people with previous bad experiences.
